The
Criminal Investigations Section is responsible for performing
in-depth criminal investigations, crime scene investigations
and evidence processing. Section members provide a proactive
approach to investigating and identifying crime areas within
the city in an effort to solve and reduce crime. In addition,
the Criminal Investigations Section is responsible for obtaining
and maintaining address verifications of known sexual offenders
and predators within the City.
The Criminal Investigations Section falls under the command of the Operations Division Captain and is supervised by a Sergeant and comprised of four Investigators and a Crime Scene Technician. Investigators are assigned cases based upon the type of crime, a solvability factor, and case load.
